Meet George: The Man Behind Gram Collections

Every brand has a starting point. Ours starts with George Tabone, and a frustration he couldn't shake.

For years, George searched for jewellery that felt genuinely personal. Not just well-made, but meaningful. Something you'd choose deliberately and keep for the right reasons. He couldn't find it. So he decided to create it, and Gram Collections was born.

The Person at the Heart of It All

George Tabone grew up in Malta, in a culture where craftsmanship is genuinely valued and where the story behind something matters just as much as the thing itself. That sense of Gram Culture is woven into everything we do.

Before founding the brand, George worked across different industries, learning about materials, production, and most importantly, what people actually care about when they buy something they intend to wear every day. He noticed that most jewellery brands were chasing trends, cutting corners on quality, and banking on the fact that customers wouldn't look too closely. George looked closely. That knowledge didn't go to waste.

What "Gram" Really Means

The name isn't just a nod to weight. For George, it represents the idea that every piece in our jewellery collection should carry real meaning, not just sit on the skin. Every design, every material choice, every finish is held to the same standard: does this carry enough weight to matter?

It's a question we still ask with every new collection. And honestly, if the answer isn't a clear yes, the piece doesn't make it through.

Built with Patience

Gram Collections didn't come together overnight. George spent a long time finding the right makers, sourcing ethical materials, and getting the details right before anything went out into the world. From the early decisions around using 18ct gold jewellery as a cornerstone of the range, to the finishing details on every ring we produce, nothing was rushed. There were setbacks. Samples that didn't meet the standard. Suppliers who weren't the right fit. He kept going until it was right.

That patience shows in the finished pieces. Clean, considered, and made to last well beyond whatever is trending this season. We've never been interested in fast jewellery, and we never will be.

Still Here, Still Involved

George Tabone remains at the centre of Gram Collections today. He's involved in every new design and every decision that shapes the brand. Not because he has to be, but because this work is personal to him. It always has been.

We grow carefully and deliberately, at the pace that quality allows. That's something George has always been firm about, and it's a principle we have no plans to change. When you invest in a piece from Gram Collections, you're not buying something that was rushed. You're buying something that was thought about, tested, and chosen because it earned its place.

We're glad you're here. And we hope that when you find a piece that feels right, you understand a little more about the hands and the thinking behind it.
